Brassica is a
casual sandwich and salad shop serving fresh, wholesome,
made-from-scratch meals inspired by eastern Mediterranean
cuisine. Brassica celebrates colorful vegetables,
braised antibiotic-free meat, specially seasoned French
fries to order, and freshly-baked organic pita in a
roaring hearth. Brassica is a welcome space
for everyone to enjoy, whether for a quick lunch or
lingering afternoon.
ON THE MENU
The food is inspired by Eastern Mediterranean cuisine but
with a fresh and flavorful twist. Simple preparation allows
the fresh ingredients' beautiful flavors and colors to
shine. The meals are comprised of high-quality casual food -
chickpeas, eggplant, tahini, hummus, falafel. Meat options
include chicken shawarma, brisket and house-made lamb bacon.
The pitas are baked in-house daily. It all fits into the
company's commitment to locally grown, organic, hormone-free
meats and artisan ingredients. The name itself references a
genus of plants that includes cabbage, kale, broccoli and
cauliflower, some of which are used in the restaurant’s
salads. The prices are $7.50 for falafel sandwiches and
$10.50 for the salad, which includes brown rice and lentils,
and your choice of lamb bacon, brisket, shawarma or falafel,
then customized with various flavorful toppings.
THE
HISTORY
'Pop' Malhame immigrated from Beirut, Lebanon to Brooklyn,
New York in 1920... and 95 years later his grandsons, Kevin and
Darren, opened Brassica......featuring organic, whole wheat
pita, artisan tahini and organic chickpeas, antibiotic-free
meats, a tremendous network of local growers & craft
brewers... and a marvelous team. |
